eParaksts
Link your Latvian eParaksts once, then identify yourself with it to sign in. It is one more way in, never a way around the invitation.

Where eParaksts is switched on for your herbe ID.
How it works
What it is, and what it is not
eParaksts is the Latvian national eID, run by LVRTC. In herbe ID it proves who you are at sign-in.
- One eParaksts can be linked to one person only
- You may link more than one eParaksts identity to your own account
- Unlinking ends all your herbe ID sign-ins on every device; the emailed link still works
- No second code
After eParaksts you are not asked for an authenticator code, because eParaksts already proves who you are.
- Not a confirmation
Admin steps that ask you to confirm it is you accept an authenticator code or a passkey, not an eParaksts sign-in.
- Same rules as every way in
If an admin switches off your access, eParaksts stops working too.
How to start
Get invited
eParaksts only links to a herbe ID that already exists, so someone has to invite you first.
Link your eParaksts
Press Link eParaksts in your account's security page. You must have signed in within the last ten minutes.
Sign in with it
Press Sign in with eParaksts on the sign-in page and identify yourself.
Questions about eParaksts
Can eParaksts replace my herbe ID account?
No. You still need a herbe ID that someone invited you to. If your eParaksts is not linked to one, sign-in is refused.
Is eParaksts a second step?
No, it is one more way in. After it you are not asked for an authenticator code, because eParaksts already proves who you are.
Can it confirm a dangerous admin action?
No. Those steps accept an authenticator code or a passkey. An eParaksts sign-in does not count.
Does herbe ID store my personal code?
No. It keeps only a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into the code, and the code never appears in a log or in the audit trail.
There is no eParaksts button. Why?
The button and the account section appear only where eParaksts is switched on for your herbe ID. If you see neither, it is not available to you yet.
