herbeID

People & access

Nobody registers themselves. You invite people, choose which apps each may open, and take it away just as fast.

You decide, one person and one app at a time

Invitation only

Enter an address, choose Member or Organisation admin, and the person gets a link to the sign-in page. Nobody can sign up on their own.

Access per app

Give a person access to one app of your organisation, or to every app in one step.

Gone at once

Remove access or switch a membership off and the sign-in ends right away. A token an app already holds lasts ten minutes at most.

What stays yours, and what stays the app's

herbe ID decides who someone is and whether they may reach an app. What they may do inside it, their role, their customers, their rights, stays that app's own rule.

  • An invited person stays pending until they have signed in once
  • A person can add another email address and choose which address each organisation gets
  • Changing a role, removing access and similar changes ask you to confirm it is you
  • Member or Organisation admin

Two roles in an organisation. Herbe staff can see and change every organisation.

  • A last admin you cannot lose

An organisation admin cannot disable, remove or demote the last live admin of the organisation.

  • Connected apps

People see the apps they have let in and can disconnect one. Admins can end a connection too.

How to start

  1. We create your organisation

We register your apps under it, so there is something to give access to.

  2. You invite your people

Choose Member or Organisation admin for each, and the language of the email.

  3. Give access per app

Pick the apps each person may open. A new access starts with AI switched off.

Questions about people and access

Can people register themselves?

No. People exist on herbe ID because someone from your organisation, or from herbe, invited them.

What happens when someone leaves?

Disable or remove their membership. Their sign-in to every app of the organisation ends at once. Disabling keeps their app access, so enabling the membership brings it back; removing deletes it for good.

Can one person belong to several organisations?

Yes. A person belongs to each organisation through its own membership with its own role.

What does the invitation email contain?

A link to the sign-in page with the address filled in, and nothing else: no token, no code. The person signs in the normal way.

What if the invited person already has a herbe ID?

They are simply added to your organisation. The answer looks the same for a new and an existing person on purpose, so an invitation never tells you whether an address was known.

Does herbe ID set roles inside the apps?

No. It decides who a person is and whether they may reach an app. Roles, customers and rights inside the app stay that app's business.
