What is herbe assist?
Two ways to use your herbe data with AI. An MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Codex, and an assistant inside the portal, the calendar and herbe service.
What is MCP?
The open standard that lets an AI agent use other systems. You add herbe once as a connector, and the agent can then work in your herbe apps as you.
Which agents does the connector work with?
We describe Claude, ChatGPT and Codex. Another agent that speaks MCP may connect too, but we have not written steps for it.
Which herbe apps can an agent reach?
Your calendar, the portal and herbe service, plus your own herbe ID account details. Each app answers with what you may see there.
Can the agent see more than I can?
No. It acts as you, and each app refuses what you could not do on screen.
Can it change or delete my data?
It can propose changes, and you confirm them: on a card in herbe's own assistant, or by reading what an outside agent proposes before you say yes. Anything that cannot be undone, such as deleting an event, waits until you press Approve in the browser.
Does the AI provider see my customers' names?
By default, yes: customer and company names pass as written. A contact person's name, personal code, e-mail address and phone number are kept back, and so are IBAN and card numbers. Anonymous mode replaces names with codes too.
What is anonymous mode?
A second connector. The apps replace names, codes and registration numbers of customers, suppliers, contacts, employees, items and projects with codes such as CUST_P7Q2F. Amounts, quantities, dates, statuses and document numbers stay real.
Is anonymous mode fully anonymous?
No. It pseudonymises: herbe can map a code back to a record, so data protection law still applies, at lower risk.
Who switches AI on?
An organisation admin, in herbe ID, per app and per person. A new access starts with AI off.
How do I disconnect an agent?
Press Disconnect under Connected apps in your herbe ID account. Its very next request fails. Signing out everywhere ends it too.
Whose Claude key does the in-app assistant use?
Your organisation's own. An admin adds it in the assistant's settings, chooses the model and sets a daily limit per person, 200 by default.
How long are my chats kept?
Conversations and messages for 90 days. After that the chat content is deleted, and only usage facts such as counts, tokens and ratings stay, for up to two years.
Can herbe support see my chat?
Only if you hand it over. Support then sees the whole chat, including names, numbers and e-mails in it, and you can withdraw it at any time.
