MCP connector

MCP is the open standard that lets an AI agent reach other systems. Add herbe once in Claude, ChatGPT or Codex, and the agent can work with your herbe data next to your mail, your files and every other tool it already knows.

Use herbe where you already work

No new window to learn. You ask in the agent you have.

One connector, three apps

Your calendar, the portal and herbe service come together. Add the address once and the agent finds the right tools for each question.

Next to your other tools

If your agent also has your mail and files connected, one conversation can read a mail, open a document and look up an invoice.

As you, with your rights

The agent signs in as you. Each app refuses what you could not do on screen.

Questions you would ask a colleague

The agent works in your apps as you, so it sees what you see and nothing more.

  • “When am I free tomorrow?”
  • “Which invoices are overdue for this customer?”
  • “Which orders are still unassigned?”
  • Plan a meeting, draft the follow-up mail and log the activity in one conversation, when your agent also has your mail connected
  • Your calendar

Find a free hour for you and a colleague, create an event or a task, answer an invitation, tick a task off.

  • The portal

Look up customers, invoices, quotations and activities, as far as your portal rights allow.

  • herbe service

Work with jobs, orders, bookings and quotes, as far as your role allows.

Connect once, then forget the address

You paste your herbe ID address with /mcp at the end, sign in with herbe ID and press Allow. On a team plan, the owner of the Claude or ChatGPT organisation may have to add the connector first, and menu names change between plans.

  • The address looks like https://id.herbe.app/mcp
  • The Allow screen shows which app is asking and where you return to. Press Allow only for a connection you started yourself.
  • Claude

Settings, Connectors, add a custom connector, paste the address and press Connect.

  • ChatGPT

Create a custom connector, paste the address and choose OAuth. This may need developer mode or your workspace admin.

  • Codex

Add the server to config.toml, then sign in once from a terminal with codex mcp login herbe.

Choose what it reaches, end it when you like

AI is off for every app until an admin switches it on for you. After that, the choices are yours. Read what the agent proposes before you say yes to a change.

  • A connection ends after at most 90 days, or after about two weeks without use
  • Two addresses: the plain one, and /mcp/anon, which swaps names for codes
What the model sees
  • Choose its apps

On the Allow screen, untick any app the agent should not reach. Change it later under Connected apps.

  • Disconnect at once

Press Disconnect and the agent's very next request fails. Signing out everywhere ends it too.

  • Deleting waits for Approve

What cannot be undone, such as deleting an event, happens only when you press Approve in the browser. An agent may make at most 60 requests a minute for you.

How to start

  1. Ask your admin to switch AI on

In herbe ID, AI is off for each app until an admin turns it on for you.

  2. Add the connector

Paste your herbe ID address with /mcp at the end into Claude or ChatGPT, or add it to Codex.

  3. Press Allow and ask

Sign in with herbe ID, choose the apps it may reach, and ask your first question.

Questions about the connector

What is MCP, in one sentence?

It is the open standard that lets an AI agent use other systems, so Claude, ChatGPT or Codex can work in herbe instead of only talking about it.

Which herbe apps can the agent reach?

Your calendar, the portal and herbe service, plus your own herbe ID account details. Each app answers with what you are allowed to see there.

Can it change or delete my data?

It can create and change things as far as your rights allow, so read what it proposes before you say yes. Anything that cannot be undone, such as deleting an event, waits until you press Approve in the browser.

Does the AI company see my customers' names?

On the plain connector, yes: customer and company names go to the model, while e-mail addresses, phone numbers and personal codes are removed first. If that is not acceptable, use the anonymous connector, which replaces names with codes.

Which agents work?

We describe Claude, ChatGPT and Codex. Another agent that speaks MCP may connect too, but we have not written steps for it.

Where do I find the address?

It is your herbe ID address with /mcp at the end, for example https://id.herbe.app/mcp. Your admin can tell you which one your organisation uses.

See it with your own data

We connect your agent with you and show what it can do in your apps.
