A map for planning a route
It is the dispatch board, asked where.
How it works
A pin is a site, not a guess
Each pin comes from the coordinates stored on the customer's site. The map itself does no address lookup.
- Located for you
Sites are located in the background, and a technician can correct a bad pin from the field.
- Near today's trips
A tab on the unassigned list shows the jobs within 50 km, in a straight line, of a site a technician is visiting today.
- Your choice, per company
Map and GPS is a switch. With it off, nothing is sent to OpenStreetMap for your company, and stored positions are kept.
How to start
Open the office demo
Switch the dispatch board to Map.
Switch on Map and GPS
It needs sites (Objects) switched on, and your account's consent to address lookup.
Check the pins
Fix any site that could not be located by setting its coordinates.
Questions about the map
Why one day only?
A map is read to plan a route. A week of pins puts every job on top of every other, and Monday cannot be told from Friday.
Why is a job missing from the map?
The line under the map says which: its site is still being located, the site could not be located, or the order names no site.
Does it need an ERP?
No. It behaves the same on a company without one.
Where do the map pictures come from?
From OpenStreetMap. If you switch Map and GPS off, nothing is sent there for your company.
Does the map show where technicians are?
No. It shows jobs, by site. It does not track people.
