Projects
File a customer's orders and quotes under one project, then watch the budget against the work done while there is still time to act.

One customer's long job, in one place
The orders, quotes, worksheets and invoices of a project, together.
The budget
See it before it is over
All figures are at sell price, without VAT, in the project's own currency.
- An approved variation adds to the budget, and one that takes work out lowers it
- Work that no quote asked for has its own row, with its orders linked
- Money is shown only to people who may see prices. Hours are shown to everyone who can open the project
- Projects are a switch per company, and what was filed comes back when you switch them on again
- Used against the budget
The bar turns to a warning colour at 90 % of the budget, and a banner opens the block when the budget is passed, with a button to quote the extra work.
- A forecast
What the project is heading for: the work used so far, plus quoted work not yet done, plus approved lines no order has taken.
- Hours against hours
The hours used against the hours the approved quotes budgeted, for each work or travel item.

How to start

Open the project page, or the register view of projects at 90 % of their budget or more.
Questions about projects
Can an order belong to two projects?
No. An order has at most one project, and most orders have none. A project has exactly one customer, and only that customer's orders can be filed under it.
Does a project need an ERP?
No. Without one, herbe service numbers projects itself. With Standard ERP by HansaWorld, known as Excellent ERP in the Baltics, Finland and Norway, or with Excellent Books connected, projects are read from it, new ones are sent there, and an approved quote is written into the project's budget there.
Can a project be deleted?
No, and it does not need to be. A project is closed and reopened. A closed project takes no new orders, and the orders already filed under it keep it.
What happens when a quote is put on an order?
An order with no project is filed under the quote's project. A new order made from the quote is filed there too, and an order already under a different project is refused.
Who sees the money?
Only people who may see prices, as set in the account. Everyone else who can open the project sees the hours and nothing priced.
